Von Iva * Pashva * Wicked Poseur * Lennie Briscoe

lmnVon Iva - (San Francisco, CA) Von Iva is a fierce force to be reckoned with on the independent music landscape. The San Francisco trio has successfully accomplished some pretty daunting tasks - they've managed to embrace a DIY attitude toward recording, promotion and management that has given them total control over their musical careers, they've achieved their goal of replicating their studio sound for a live audience and they've imaginatively mastered the art of creating a rich and raw dance album with only keyboards, percussion and vocals on their latest Our Own Island. - Performer Magazine

Pashva - (Washington D.C.) - "One of the year's best albums." - www.woxy.com

"Pash boasts that rarest of indie-rock creatures: a singer who can really, really sing. The Virginia quartet’s urgent, expansive sound is cool, but it’s Merideth Munoz’s soaring, luminous voice that’s got us hooked. Trust us, this girl could be worldwide." - Time Out New York

"[From] what I've heard from this album so far...I am relatively sure that this is indie-pop GOLD." - itisthemoneyshot.blogspot.com

"I’ve been reading that their live show is not to be missed, and they sound to me like the type of band who’s stuff really translates well to a live show, lots of fun, dance-y energy. The kind where you worry that the lights hanging from the ceiling may become dislodged due to the fact that everyone is jumping around so much. Scary, but in a fun way. Like rollercoasters. Or watching a zombie movie. " - www.theskywascandy.com

"Heavy on the hook and the jangle, it recalls the best moments of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Pretenders...The songwriting is sharp, the chemistry of the players undeniable, and singer Merideth Munoz shines on every cut. Superb post-pop punk." - cowboytrance2.blogspot.com

Wicked Poseur (Houston, TX) - I can picture Arthur Bates, the one man behind Wicked Poseur, sitting in his basement apartment, shades drawn, absinthe in hand, listening to a steady diet of Joy Division. I can't picture this same guy caring enough to write, record, press, and distribute to other people a 7". That's how bleak an image I get from these slow, morose, icy, yet still rather catchy songs. And they were made in isolation; at least Ian Curtis had bandmates. Maybe Eliminator is all right, just keep away from sharp metal objects when listening.
